A Word of Welcome from the President
of the Board and the Director General
The year 2009-2010 was a year of major renewal and major development that saw us make great progress in many areas. The year ended on a most positive note.
Our organization was granted accreditation within the context of Accreditation Canada's Qmentum program. The visitors were impressed with our staff's level of engagement and their commitment to safety and quality. Our teams have made concerted efforts to act upon their recommendations which have also given us a leg up in our continuous improvement process.
Despite the ongoing challenges that we continue to face, and indeed share with the health system in general, it is obvious that our institution is faring comparatively well on most fronts (except possibly financial).
We believe that the renewed optimism felt in many parts of the organization is highly justified. It is the calibre and vitality of our employees and their commitment to ensure quality, security, and compassion that is at the heart of our success and clients' well-being.
In closing, we would like to thank our staff, volunteers and other partners, and, of course, our many clients. During this period of transition, we must remain united and committed to quality – quality in patient care, quality in the living environment, quality in the workplace and, last but not least, quality in interpersonal relationships.
