Community Forum 2011:
A Community of Care in Action

On May 25, 2011, the Jeffery Hale hosted a Community Forum on the health and well-being of Quebec City's English-speaking population. This event was a showcase of programs and initiatives related to prevention and health promotion within our community.

Partners both from both the English-speaking community and the greater French-speaking community were invited to attend.  Organizations were able shared knowledge, experiences and best practices with one another while learning about each other's work.

The forum was also great opportunity for members of the general public to learn about the wide variety of programs, services and activities available to them, both at Jeffery Hale Community Services and at the many other community organizations that serve the English-speaking population.

The Community Forum is a new concept that brings partners together in a dynamic and comfortable setting.  The objectives are as follows:

  1. Improve the capacity of available community resources, and;
  2. Ensure community involvement in projects and partnership that promote the health and well being of the English-speaking population of Greater Quebec city region.

The next edition of the Community Forum will be in 2012, so be sure to stay in touch.  In the meantime, please come and see us at Voice of English-speaking Québec's Fall Fest to be held on September 24th, 2011, at St. Patrick’s High School.
